  • SATELLITE ENGINEERING TRAINING

  • Satrec Initiative has provided the Satellite Engineering Training Program to various domestic and foreign organizations. This program can be categorized into Intensive Short Course on Satellite Engineering and Mission Analysis and Conceptual Design.

INTENSIVE SHORT COURSE ON SATELLITE ENGINEERING

This intensive short course on satellite engineering aims to provide fundamental knowledge required to carry out satellite development programs. This course is composed of two different sets of lectures: the first one on space environment, orbit mechanics, spacecraft subsystems and systems engineering; the second one on satellite assembly, integration and test, space product manufacturing plan, product assurance, verification and validation, risk management, ground support equipment, and launch and early operations. During this course, the participants will be exposed to wide areas of space systems including its design, manufacturing, test, and operation.

    MISSIONS ANALYSIS & CONCEPTUAL DESIGN

The system design process including mission analysis is the core systems engineering activity in satellite development programs. This mission analysis and conceptual design course aims to expose participants to this core systems engineering activity and to train them with an efficient mission analysis and system design process required to carry out satellite development programs. This course is performed based upon an Earth observation small satellite mission. Its objectives are to define top-level system requirements, to identify mission drivers, to perform mission analysis and design work, to translate user's requirements into performance specifications, and to generate overall program management plan according to mission requirements and constraints.

    METHODOLOGY

A joint team of participating engineers and Satrec Initiative engineers will perform the mission analysis work. The team will also carry out a series of analyses to investigate the feasibility of various possibilities. The team will examine the details of payloads and the possibility to accommodate payloads in a small satellite system. This will include definition of mission objectives, characteristics and evaluation of the mission, and generation of requirements.

  • CONSULTING SERVICES

  • Since its foundation, Satrec Initiative has provided cost-effective solutions on space-borne Earth observation missions for many organizations. The competitiveness of SI lies in its experience and manpower. As a total solution provider for Earth observation missions, activities within SI cover various fields for satellite platforms, electro-optical payloads, and image receiving and processing systems.

Satrec Initiative has gained the experiences and technologies from a series of small satellite development program such as KITSAT-1, 2, 3, and RazakSAT and DubaiSat-1 which are international collaborative programs, which include significant amount of training, consulting services and technology transfer. Based on the experiences and technologies, SI provided training and consulting services to various countries and the service contributed to their programs.
